Martin Vavra, owner of Galaxy Sailor Productions, has been working in the film business since 2004 with the realization for his love of making film. Ever since he was a small boy, Martin has loved movies and films but never took it to be something that would be a passion to pursue as a career. After fourteen years of fighting fires and three years in science education, Galaxy Sailor Productions was born from a love of film making. Ever since, Martin has driven to make Galaxy Sailor Productions a premiere company whose focus is to make entertaining, enriching, and fulfilling films. Since GSP was started, Martin has worked on numerous films as well as edited for The Sportsman Channel and WildTV, self produced a full length DVD performance of the Vagina Monologues, and created online video content for Lithia Motors, The Special Olympics, Milepost 5, Showcase PDX, a documentary short for Basic Rights Oregon, and is currently working on a preproduction for a feature film to be shot during the summer of 2010. Rachel Bennett, a native to Portland, Oregon and a lover of film, has been writing for over two decades with a focus on feature scripts.

Three years ago, Rachel found herself with the unique opportunity to start over. Her first job was as an A.D. on a feature film. That job earned her the references and reputation as a true asset on any set affording her the chance to work on multiple projects shortly thereafter. And after being hired to co-write a script, coupled with having pieces of her work published, she’s learned that both writing and working in the production create the perfect balance.

Rachel is currently splitting work between Portland and L.A. and is in pre-production for a feature being shot in Portland in June 2010.
