LITHIA Motors helps bring Galaxy Sailor to the web

Hey folks.  Well, a few months back, I was hired to film footage of the Special Olypmics International Winter Games in Idaho.  What a trip that was.  I spent an amazing week with my best friend and work partner Gautch, and we filmed all over the state.

This was truly an amazing event.  The spirit and the heart is forever inspiring to me, and I have sworn to help the Special Olympics from here on out.  You will never find a better group of people doing anything with as much heart and integrity as the people competing and volunteering.

LITHIA motors was a sponors for the games, and thanks to them, many of the events and needs were met, allowing the athletes to foucs on what they needed to do the most: compete.

This video was edited and produced my the video team and LITHIA Motors with much of the footage shot by Galaxy Sailor Productions as well as others.  I hope you like what they did with it.

Work and living space come together

That’s right, a live work space that you would be happy about being a part of. A place where you would live and work with the only commute being across the room, across the hall, or across the campus. That is the hope and dreams of Milepost 5, in Portland, Oregon. This visionary concept was developed by people in the Portland area to be a new way of thinking and living and fostering the future of culture through the nurturing of the creative class.

This short documentary is one in an installment of small documentaries the shows how Milepost 5 came to be; from idea to move-in, the story of Milepost 5 is one for visionaries, artists, and all of those ready to embrace the change that will surely be the next stepping stone in cultural development.

Please check out Milepost 5 and look into the creative and collaborative ways people are choosing to live and work together.

Trailer for a new way of thinking

Heya folks.  Recently, Galaxy Sailor Productions finished a few shorts bits for some people over at Blue Voice Media.  If you haven’t heard about them, go check them out at www.bluevoicemedia.com and see all the exciting new things that great minds of Portland are thinking of in terms of media, art, communication, and how we view community.

I was fortunate enough to be able to edit some previously shot footage for BVM as well as shot and edited the test show for the soon to be program Showcase PDX.  This show will feature the talents of Michkael Baker (no type-o there, that is how he spells it) and the staff of people he has brought together to form Blue Voice Media.  The following is meant to be a teaser of things to come from BVM and Showcase PDX.  It’s quick, it’s fun, and hopefully has you asking for more.

Why some women take so long to prepare

This time it was worth it. I had the opportunity to film three ladies who were being dolled up for a salon competition. The entry was an avaunt gard, and the them was reptiles. The women spent about 5 hours preparing for the photo shoot at a private studio later in the day. This was done as a news piece but I took the footage and created my own spin on it. I took all the footage and sped it up 700 times normal to laps the time. I little color grading and a few magic bullets and you have the finished piece. The sign was done in Photoshop and After Effects.

Keeping up with GSP

Galaxy Sailor Productions recently completed entry for the “Drive Less Save More” competition.  Originally, this was an abandoned project due to music licensing issues.  I filmed the whole project around the intro of Welcome to the Jungle by Guns n Roses. Because GnR probably won’t let me use their music without paying a great deal of money, I couldn’t use it.  So I shelved the project, but have it posted at my VIMEO site.

Well, the people having the competition saw my video, liked it, and encouraged me to enter it.  A few GarageBand licks later and it is now in their little hands.  So here is to hoping!  I could use a new iMac Pro (but I hate Final Cut Pro!).
